'Raven and Woodpecker' flute by Billy Crowbeak (Woodpecker Creations/Whirlwind Studios). A hand carved work of art that won a 1st place ribbon at a prestigious Native arts show. Sings with a lovely and mellow Woodlands voice. This flute is a real show stopper.
Smooth and refined sounding Western Red Cedar flute made by Scott Loomis (Wind's Song Flutes). Played on tracks 2, 3, 4 and 9 of Belonging to the Sun and the Moon. F# Appalachian flute by Mac Lopez (Whirlwind Studios). Made of Hackberry, and thick-walled, this unusual and beautifully made instrument has a lush, smooth, rich Woodlands voice. The Appalachian tuning is delightful, and gives this flute a sound that is truly unique and pleasing. Beadwork by DLQ.
Beautifully and precisely made Alaskan Yellow Cedar instrument by Geoffrey Ellis (Earthtone Flutes). This is the Jeff Ball Signature Flute. Flawless in every way - this is a superb and responsive Woodlands style instrument, with a very rich sound. Key of Fm.
This gorgeous Eagle Flute was made by Ken Light (Amon Olorin Flutes), with his Sonoran (Gm) tuning. A finely crafted instrument. Achieves 'work of art' status in a very subtle and authentic manner. Plays beautifully, with a vibrational and highly energetic Plains sound - extremely responsive.
This flute, made by Dakota flute player and maker Bryan Akipa, seems to have come right out of the 19th century. Made of Eastern Red Cedar, thick-walled, with a birch bark spacer under the block. The traditional beadwork is sewn onto the flute. Very powerful, haunting, and evocative sound . Root note is E.

Western Red Cedar 5 hole flute by Michael Gulino (Moonlight Creek Flutes). This stunning low C# instrument has a deep, rich, mellow, yet vibrational voice.
